The curriculum for the teachers of tomorrow is designed keeping in mind the fact that education is a blessing, a dynamic power enlightening everyone who seeks her and here we are focused on empowering these future nation builders with a balanced outlook towards this lofty, noble profession.Hence, we believe in empowering prospective teachers with value embedded and competency-based teacher education curriculum, to train them to be professionally equipped , adaptable and socially committed, to meet the challenges in an ever growing knowledge society.
Credit and Semester
The B. Ed. and M.Ed. programme proposed by teacher educators is based on Credit and Semester System with grading. The course, spanning for a period of two years follows the semester system and consists of three components- Theory, CE and other related practical work. The course content is divided into three areas-Perspectives in Education (core papers), Curriculum and Pedagogic courses(optional papers) and Related Practical work.
Some of the selected objectives to be fostered in the teachers of tomorrow include:
- To acquire various teacher competencies and development of professionalism through qualitative multi-level strategies and practices.
- To develop a proper value system based on the cultural, social, political and moral bases of Indian society.
- To have mastery of the latest communication technologies in all facets of learning in order to foster active inquiry and collaboration.
- To generate the professional capacity and human resources expected for performing multiple roles in national and international scenario.
