Peet Memorial Training College

The Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara was founded in 1960 by the Madhya Kerala Diocese of Church South India in memory of the Rev. Joseph Peet, who was one of the leading missionaries, sent by the CMS to South India. He came to Mavelikara in 1836 not only to spread the gospel, but also to uplift the downtrodden. He was mainly instrumental in popularising education in the area. The college is affiliated to the Kerala University. Reacredited with A Grade by NAAC.

Titus II Teachers College, Thiruvalla

Titus II Teachers College was founded in 1957, the same year that the University of Kerala was born. The College is run by the Mar Thoma Syrian Church and is dedicated to the revered memory of His Grace the Most Rev. Titus II, who was Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church from 1898 to 1944. Crowning a rustic hillock in a majestic splendor and set against the lush green undulant, sylvan ambiance, Prof.  Kandoth Memorial College has already marked a noble legacy in the educational scenario of North Malabar.  The college with its unique semi-circular edifice has a picturesque site near Thumbeni Shrine, Madampam on the eastern side of Taliparamba – Iritty Sate Highway and it comes under the jurisdiction of Sreekandapuram  Municipality, Irrikur Block, Kannur District, Kerala

The College was established in 1995 as a self-financing institution and was converted into an aided college in 1997.  It is affiliated to  Kannur University and recognized by NCTE.  This temple of learning is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and named after Prof. Joseph Kandoth, who was an educational visionary, social reformer and a zealous missionary.  He initiated the historical migration of Kananaya Catholic Community which in its turn changed the social and economic history of Malabar.
